About Mittata

MITTATA was established in 2003 and started out as a market stall in Northern Ireland. After 10 years of trading all over the North and South of Ireland, MITTATA opened their online shop in March 2013 to widen their customer base to all corners of the globe. This has proved to be the case as we have customers from as far away as Canada and the USA, Australia, Tasmania and all over the UK and Europe. They started by selling an extensive range of on trend fashion jewellery, scarves and a small range of personalised fair trade children’s name plaques from Lanka Kade which proved popular since introducing them in October 2015.

We got very excited about the introduction of our kids section and of all the product categories this is the one that has changed most of all. So, after a lot of thought we decided to concentrate on the children’s products and phase out the fashion jewellery and accessory end of things.

What will we have this year? Well, we will be expanding our kids range dramatically. Firstly, we will be continuing to stock our fair trade children's name plaques from Lanka Kade, although in a reduced range of styles. But after visiting the largest trade show in the UK in Birmingham (at the NEC) back in February we have stocked up on some new products. Some colourful fair trade wooden jigsaws (that are great fun, educational and will improve your child's imagination and story-telling skills, not to mention developing hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills), to beautiful traditional handmade ragdolls and fabulous colouring-in t-shirts in a range of sizes that will keep the kids occupied for hours. Also, coming very soon, will be a range of gorgeous plush cuddle cushions in the shape of your child's favourite animal with hidden pockets for your child to keep their hands warm or to give their "friend" a great big cuddle. Perfect for bedtime, a visit to Granny's, a drive in the car or a weekend away in the caravan. These are sure to be a hit with your little ones.
